Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Cut a variety of materials or composite assemblies to specified shapes on a CNC router.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sets up and operates a computer numerical control router to cut parts and materials. Work from oral and written instructions, setup sheets and NC readouts.
Reviews setup sheet, secures stock to machine bed, and loads specified router and drill bits.
Observes machine operations for proper functioning. Uses minimal judgment to override feed and speed using manual data input to prevent broken tools and damaged material.
Removes excess material and parts when operations are complete.
Coordinate machine operation on both tool proving and production parts under guidance of others. May suggest basic changes on sequencing, feeds, and part layout.
Uses hand tools such as wrenches, hammers, and measuring instruments such as scale and tape.
Responsible only for own work.
Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or bronze level WorkKeys certification. Blueprint reading. Textron Aviation Blueprint certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 6 months of directly related fabrication experience.
Working Conditions:
Somewhat disagreeable working conditions with exposure to dust, noise, heat, fumes and liquids. Safety shoes and protective clothing could be required.
