Summary:
Support production operations in the fabrication and processing of high-temperature carbon composite materials.
Monitor and operate high-temperature coating reactors, densification furnaces, and ovens.
The Shop Hand may also be required to verify proper functioning of these systems and report any discrepancies.
The role involves processing various aerospace carbon materials using Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) methods.
Operate and monitor coating reactors, densification furnaces, and ovens
Process carbon-based aerospace products using CMC techniques
Ensure equipment is functioning properly and escalate issues when needed
Work with basic shop tools (e.g., scale, razor blades, scissors, wrenches, ratchets)
Follow drawings, specifications, and standard operating procedures accurately
Occasional travel to Edwards Air Force Base may be required based on workflow
Requirements:
Familiarity with aerospace products and composite fabrication
Understanding of composites and related processing techniques
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and procedures
Must pass a medical exam to qualify for full-face respirator use (required for certain processes)
Expected 25 30 hours per week, with the potential to increase to 40 hours as production ramps up
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
