Job Description:
- Inspect forgings for conformance to specifications following blueprints and work orders, using measuring instruments such as rules, calipers, surfaces, gages, micrometers, scales, vernier, and sine plate to determine cause of defect by applying knowledge of metal characteristics.
- Responsible for final count of all forgings before being sent to shipping department.
- Checks work order to see that departments have completed their assigned jobs.
- Inspects parts to see if its to be shipped or scrapped.
- Prepares submittals on deviant material.
General Functions:
- Inspect forgings per specifications and work instructions.
- Verify final count of forgings prior to shipment.
- Documents non-conforming material following quality plan.
- Knowledge of metal characteristics.
- Responsible for final count of all forgings before being sent to shipping department.
- Checks work order to see that department have completed their assigned jobs.
- Inspects parts to see if its to be shipped or scrapped.
- Prepares submittals on deviant material.
- Assist in multiple departments as needed.
- Must be able to read and write English
- Operates in a safe manner
Training Requirements:
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
- Hands on training on wide variety of measuring instruments.
