Job Title: Inventory Specialist
Job DescriptionThe Inventory Specialist accurately manages inventory by receiving, processing, recording, and distributing supplies and materials within a clean warehouse and repair facility. This role combines clerical responsibilities such as data entry and file maintenance with hands-on warehouse work, including operating a forklift to move large containers throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming containers and release outbound containers while processing all associated documentation accurately and on time.
- Clean the interior and exterior of containers in accordance with approved documentation and under the supervision of authorized personnel.
- Prepare outgoing containers for shipment, including cleaning and testing them according to approved procedures and standards.
- Interact professionally with drivers from transport companies during deliveries and when releasing containers from the facility.
- Coordinate directly with Logistics and Customer Service teams to ensure all documentation and special instructions for inbound and outbound loads are accurate and complete, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and delivery orders.
- Enter accurate and timely information into inventory systems to maintain up-to-date records of materials and containers.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment, including forklifts and related tools, to move and organize containers and materials safely.
- Perform other related manual tasks and warehouse duties as assigned to support smooth facility operations.
Essential Skills- Proven inventory experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
- Hands-on warehouse experience, including handling, organizing, and tracking materials.
- Forklift operation experience and ability to safely move large containers within a facility.
- Mechanical aptitude to understand and support basic equipment and container handling tasks.
- Data entry skills with strong attention to detail for accurate recordkeeping.
- Basic computer skills to work with inventory systems and related documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience working in a repair facility or logistics environment.
- Comfort interacting with drivers, logistics teams, and customer service personnel.
- Ability to follow detailed written procedures and documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Work Environment
This role is based in a repair facility located at ORD that supports cold chain shipping solutions for airlines, freight forwarders, and life sciences organizations. The environment is described as very clean and organized, with a strong focus on quality and compliance. The position follows a Monday through Friday first-shift schedule, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Work involves operating forklifts and simple warehouse equipment, handling large containers, and working closely with logistics and customer service teams within a structured warehouse setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
