Job Description

The Chrome Operator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the chrome plating process, including the maintenance of chemical baths. This role involves tasks such as racking, masking, and washing parts.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and operate chrome plating tanks.
  • Perform routine testing to ensure proper operation of solutions.
  • Prepare and process parts through chrome plating tank lines.
  • Roll lapping of product both before and after the chrome plating process.
  • Mask, blast, and rack aerospace parts.
  • Inspect processed parts.
  • Perform basic data entry functions in computer systems.
  • Sign off paperwork as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • Use tooling and fixtures when applicable.
  • Understand advanced part handling procedures.
  • Be familiar with Quality Assurance requirements and rework procedures.
  • Read and interpret engineering/blueprint drawings and notations.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance productivity, delivery, and service.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards in all situations.
  • Exercise health and safety processes and procedures.
Essential Skills
  • Production experience in chemical processing and plating.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical functions including decimals, fractions, metrics, conversions, and basic geometry and trigonometry.
  • Mechanical inclination.
  • Basic computer skills, proficiency in Windows format.
  • Effective oral communication skills.
  • Ability to establish professional relationships with employees.
  • Capability to complete tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High School Degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to alternate between standing and sitting for 8-12 hours.
  • Vision correctable to 20/20.
  • Ability to hear and distinguish color (must pass colorblind test).
  • Ability to stoop and bend.

Work Environment

The work environment includes both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned areas within a production building. Shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6am to 2:30pm, with the possibility of overtime. Employees are required to maintain a professional atmosphere and adhere to health and safety protocols.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
