Job Description The Enterprise Assurance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers critical assurance disciplines that protect and enable people, data and missions. What You’ll Do:
- Maintain working knowledge of BAE Process Library.
- Perform basic dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, feeler gages, etc.
- Create and maintain First Article Inspection Reports, as required.
- Support Government and/or Customer Source Inspections, as required.
- Inspect incoming or production materials or articles for conformance to engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications; process standards and specifications; and production or process plans.
- Perform incoming test of components. Monitor for conformance to design or test specifications or standards.
- Accept or reject materials or articles; identify and document non-conformance and notify appropriate personnel of potential rejection of items.
- Refer/document unusual inspection problems to supervision, Quality Engineer, and Hardware Responsible Engineer
- Apply/enforce/comprehend accept/reject criteria and revision status from engineering drawings, MIL-specs, screening specs, or process certification training.
- Witness or monitor functional/performance testing at sub-assembly and/or end-item level.
- Obtain and maintain all required certifications for assigned tasks.
- Troubleshoot inspection problems related to fixtures, software, drawings, documentation, or processes.
- Perform issuing Authorized Released Documents using FAA Form 8130-3 Airworthiness Approval Tag for new articles manufactured by SMS with Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA). If you have held a Designated Manufacturing and Inspection Representative title in the past or currently, that is beneficial, but we will be training you for this requirement through BAE Systems.
- Specific duties while assigned to Supplier Flex:
- Pre-build inspection points identified by the program quality team which may include items such as
- Incoming product documentation review
- Incoming product inspection as necessary per corrective action requests, risk burn down or to create process efficiencies for downstream in-process inspections.
- In-process inspection points identified by the program quality team which may include items such as:
- Polythio sealing and Duro samples
- Paint coverage, workmanship, damage
- Cable routing
- Final inspection and FAA PMA labeling:
- Poly seam for workmanship, height, duro and holes
- Paint coverage, surface finish, color
- General workmanship for damage,
- Configuration (labeling, rev control, traceability)
- Data review for ATP
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
