A Part 135 operator is seeking an experienced Director of Maintenance to lead and optimize our Part 135 maintenance operation. This role requires a decisive operational leader who can manage aircraft airworthiness, oversee maintenance personnel and vendors, and lead AOG events with urgency and authority.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, capable of managing multiple aircraft events simultaneously, and experienced in building efficient maintenance systems while maintaining full FAR 135 compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all maintenance activities to ensure aircraft airworthiness and regulatory compliance
- Lead and manage the maintenance department, technicians, and external repair stations
- Coordinate and resolve AOG situations quickly and effectively
- Provide accurate aircraft status and downtime forecasting to flight operations
- Ensure inspections, repairs, and component changes follow FAA-approved procedures
Qualifications
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License
- 10+ years aviation maintenance experience
- 5–7+ years leadership experience in aircraft maintenance
- Experience in a Part 135 or Part 91 turbine aircraft operation
- Strong knowledge of FAR 135 maintenance and airworthiness requirements
