Million Air Lubbock is seeking a skilled and motivated General Aviation Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic to join our dedicated maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance, inspections, repairs, and alterations on a variety of general aviation aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of aircraft systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections (annual, 100-hour, progressive, etc.), repairs, and alterations on airframes, engines (piston and turbine), propellers, and aircraft components.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system malfunctions.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), manufacturer's manuals, service bulletins, and company policies and procedures.
- Accurately document all work performed, including parts used, discrepancies found, and corrective actions taken, in aircraft logbooks and maintenance records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained and accounted for.
- Assist with aircraft movement and ground handling as needed.
- Communicate effectively with pilots, customers, and other maintenance personnel regarding aircraft status and maintenance findings.
- Stay current with industry best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and practices.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate.
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience as an A&P mechanic in general aviation is strongly desired.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, including airframe structures, engines, propellers, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, landing gear, and environmental control systems.
- Proven ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Valid driver's license.
- Inspection Authorization required or the ability to become an IA.
