Job Description:

The Inspector reports directly to the Chief Inspector and is responsible for the efficient and economical determination of airworthiness of aircraft maintenance and other assigned inspection work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ascertaining that assigned work is accomplished to a high standard of workmanship and in accordance with AAT, FAA, and manufacturer’s standards

  • Ensuring all necessary parts tags are correctly executed for units or parts changed

  • Performing receiving inspections for new and continued service parts, verifying manufacturer/overhaul certification, and checking for shipping damage

  • Inspecting articles, products, facilities, vendors, and equipment as directed by the Chief Inspector

  • Conducting incoming and stockroom inspections for proper tagging, bagging, storage, shelf life, and housekeeping

  • Performing technical research to determine status/compliance of aircraft, components, or systems

  • Reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language

  • Ensuring completion of logbook entries as required

  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable CFRs during assignments

  • Performing inspections only on products for which proper training and qualification have been received

  • Conducting On-the-Job Training (OJT)

  • Reviewing, auditing, copying, and controlling AAT aircraft records as directed by the Chief Inspector

  • Acting on behalf of the repair station when authorized

  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Chief Inspector

Note: Duties and responsibilities may be delegated to any qualified individual with Chief Inspector approval, but such delegation does not relieve the Chief Inspector of overall responsibility.
