Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Mechanic to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong aircraft maintenance and repair background, excellent communication and analytical skills, demonstrate professionalism and leadership, and be dedicated to learning and growing in this field. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team. In this role, you are responsible for the maintenance and repair of airframe components, power plants, and associated components on a variety of jet aircraft, but primarily Learjet 31, 45, and 60 models, in accordance with the manufacturer’s manuals, including service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and Federal Aviation Regulations as they pertain to FAA Part 135 operations.

Responsibilities

  • As directed by the DOM: inspect, test, repair, maintain, and service aircraft.
  • Continually strive for the highest standards of quality as prescribed by FAA Regulations and Safety standards.
  • Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Modify aircraft structures, systems, or components by following drawings, engineering orders and technical publications.
  • Examine and inspect engine or other components for cracks, breaks, or leaks.
  • Disassemble and inspect parts for wear, warping, or other defects.
  • Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic and structural components and accessories using hand tools and power tools.
  • Adjust, align, and calibrate aircraft systems using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment.
  • Test engine and system operations using testing equipment to detect and diagnose malfunctions. Service and maintain aircraft systems by performing tasks, cleaning screens, greasing moving parts, checking brakes, and building up wheel and tire assemblies and installing them on the aircraft along with all other types and tasks concerning general aircraft maintenance / inspection tasks.
  • Perform maintenance IAW FAA approved technical data.
  • Research FAA technical data to locate applicable data relevant to assigned tasks.
  • Work within our safety culture by maintaining open communication; participating in company safety teams and the use of safety systems (SMS).
  • Champion the cleanliness / professional appearance of maintenance facility and shop areas.
  • Keep aircraft clean, including washing, waxing, and servicing the lavatory.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.
Job Requirements:

Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

  • High School or GED/equivalent is required.
  • A&P certification is required.
  • Mechanic-supplied toolbox shadowed properly with foam is required. Shadowing can be done onsite after hiring.
  • Previous experience on Learjet airframes is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a militarized environment is a plus but not required.
  • Must be able to document maintenance performed on required company forms.
  • Proficiency in working with airframe systems and components.
  • Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) relevant to aircraft maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • A commitment to safety and quality assurance in all aspects of work.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer and math skills.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must be self-motivating on a daily basis.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent physical activity including lifting, bending and reaching.
  • Working on your feet with little sitting.
  • Work performed is primarily indoors with air conditioning and heating. Some outside work will be performed.
  • Test flight ride-alongs.

Salary Range: $30/hr-$50/hr experience based
