The AOG Maintenance Technician/ Lead Mechanic works directly with the SBA Site Manager to ensure AOG and scheduled aircraft are supported at Santa Barbara (KSBA) and in the field. This position is responsible for performing all maintenance projects assigned to them while ensuring their work is meeting the highest quality standards. These activities must be done while maintaining a positive and productive relationship with Coastal’s employees, vendors, and clients. Regular travel is required for this position, including overnight stays. Available hours must be flexible for on-call work, including nights and weekends. Hourly pay with OT compensation is negotiable, based on experience. 

Essential Functions

  • Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
  • Removal and installation of panels and components,
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving aircraft system/component issues
  • De-fueling aircraft,
  • Engine removal/installations,
  • Operating ground support equipment,
  • Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components
  • Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/ taxiing
  • Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment, and tooling
  • Immediately notify the General Manager of any problem areas such as parts, materials, workmanship, or airworthiness issues.
  • Provides the General Manager with a detailed report of work progression and open items to be included in the shift turnover log
  • Proper tagging of Aircraft components, parts, and panels appropriately stored including racks by aircraft.
  • Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases
  • Willing and able to work rotating shifts including, nights, holidays, weekends, and days off.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Requirements:

  • A High school diploma or equivalent,
  • Airframe and Powerplant License
  • A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal

 Responsibility:

  • Attend work every day as scheduled including overtime and weekend assignments. 
  • Notify the supervisor in advance of the shift starting if unable to work.
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to work each and every day. 
  • Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
  • Follow all company and safety rules during the performance of duties.
  • Maintain customer-oriented work habits.
Salary Range: $50/ hr-$70/ hr
Relocation: Moving Reimbursement
Travel: Regular travel is required for this position
