Job Title: Powerplant Mechanic APU Shop
Department: Powerplant Division
Position Type: Regular Full Time
Reports to: Lead Mechanic
Position Description:
· Working with fellow crew members to ensure projects achieve top quality work and milestones are completed on time.
· Ensuring company and FAA procedures and policies are followed.
· Ensuring that work productivity is satisfactory.
· Keeping a clean, safe workplace at all times. Recommending improvements to increase performance, quality, etc.
· Ensuring that waste materials, oils, fluids, etc. are handled correctly
· Perform any other duties assigned by the lead.
Required Qualifications:
· Must hold at least an FAA Powerplant License.
· Must have a High School Diploma or equivalency
· Must hold a valid US driver’s license
· Must be adept and proficient on the use of technical data/manuals.
· Must be available for flexible hours and weekends
· Must have excellent communication skills
· Must have a positive and professional attitude, good leadership skills and work well with others under minimal supervision.
· Must be a self-motivator and have competent problem solving skills.
Language Skills:
· Must have the ability to read, write and understand spoken English.
· Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
· Must have the ability to understand verbal and written instructions
Physical Demands:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls.
· The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
· Work is performed primarily in a shop environment and maintenance setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
