The Academy (October 2025)
What you’ll do:
Are you working towards getting your A&P? Or potentially have one of the two but working on the other? Or are you fully licensed but looking for your next step in aviation? Then our StandardAero Academy is for you! We are looking for people who have always had a passion for mechanical work such as aviation, automotive, motorcycle repair, etc. You will be placed in The Academy, spending 90 days learning the StandardAero way as well as get "ramped up" to become a strong A&P Technician. Our technicians service, repair and assist with the overall maintenance of corporate jet (Gulfstream) aircraft.
Position Requirements:
Must be authorized to work in the US.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Mechanical background experience such as automotive, motorcycle, etc.
Preferred Characteristics:
Airframe & Powerplant License
Have completed an A&P program but in process of testing for license
Enrolled in A&P program with 3 months remaining to finish program
A passion for mechanical work, aviation background preferred.
Basic knowledge of operating a personal computer or laptop.
Knowledge of job-specific machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Capable of repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
Able to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Capable of determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
Able to perform tests and inspections of products, services or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
Able to install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
Ability to control operations of equipment or systems.
Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Attention to Detail: Meticulousness and precision are critical in aircraft maintenance, as even small overlooked details can lead to significant issues and impact safety.
Pride in workmanship: Taking pride and satisfaction in the work, ensuring its always of a high standard, and accepting accountability for actions and outcomes.
Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to analyze situations, think critically, and find efficient solutions, especially when facing unexpected issues.

Salary: $26-32 per hour, based on experience and license
