Job Description:

DPP is seeking an Aerospace Structures Technician for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace industry.

Work location: Onsite in Merritt Island, FL
Duration: 4 months
Work schedule: B-Shift, Mon. – Thurs., 3:30 PM – 3:00 AM
Term: W2
Work authorization: US Citizen

Team focus and domain expertise:

The Structures Team is essential in enhancing the efficiency and quality of large aerospace structures through advanced drilling and assembly techniques. As a technician on this team, you will perform precise drilling and assembly using both manual and power-feed drills, with a focus on large-scale structural assembly.
Your expertise will include working with both metallic and composite materials, performing detailed processes like drilling, deburring, and assembling large components.
Additionally, you will be responsible for surface preparation, fixturing components, and the alignment of structural parts, ensuring they meet stringent specifications.
Your role will involve maintaining fabrication methods and specification requirements to maintain high-quality construction using various materials and techniques.

Minimum qualifications:

5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, structures and other related field.
Familiarity with one or more of the following: Basic use of hand tools & Drills
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
Experience with precision calibration tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, and optical measuring instruments.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and comfortable working at heights (work stands, ladders, lifts) and/or in confined spaces.
Expertise in various applications, including adhesives, sealants, and thermal blankets.
Proficiency in digital tools, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred qualifications:

Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field.
Knowledge of precision assembly processes and handling large aerospace components.
Strong technical and leadership skills with a keen attention to detail, essential for leading teams in complex integration tasks.
Effective communication and collaboration skills in teams to foster a positive work environment.
Continuous improvement mindset and curiosity for optimizing processes, driving innovation.
Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
Willingness to work overtime.
