Job Title: Aircraft Maintenance and Repair
Job DescriptionThis is a safety-sensitive position requiring inclusion in an FAA-approved Drug and Alcohol screening program. The purpose of the job is to consistently and accurately disassemble, clean, evaluate, perform repairs, modifications, and assembly on aircraft components in accordance with approved data.
Responsibilities
- Work independently with limited supervision.
- Use precision measuring instruments and gauges such as feeler gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, and calipers.
- Perform repair of detailed components by filing, stoning, lapping, and polishing.
- Utilize power and hand tools for drilling, sanding, and riveting.
- Write clear and concise evaluation results and communicate repair requirements for work performed within the facility or sent to outside sources.
- Adhere to all EHS requirements, FAA, EASA regulations, company rules, policies, procedures, and corporate initiatives.
- Follow procedures found in component maintenance manuals, service bulletins, ORIs, OREIs, drawings, check sheets, etc.
- Be competent in the use of torque wrenches and have a complete understanding of SAC torque specifications.
- Chemically treat repaired surfaces in accordance with approved data.
- Review and interpret related paperwork to ensure proper identification of parts, operational sequence, and record information on appropriate documentation.
- Ream, tap, change studs, install helicoils, install bushings, and liners by shrink fitting and arbor press.
Essential Skills- Proficiency in the use of precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and feeler gauges.
- Experience in aircraft maintenance and aviation maintenance.
- Ability to perform detailed component repairs such as filing, stoning, lapping, and polishing.
- Competency in using power and hand tools for drilling, sanding, and riveting.
- Clear and concise communication skills for documenting evaluation results and repair requirements.
- Adherence to EHS requirements and FAA, EASA regulations.
- Understanding of SAC torque specifications and the use of torque wrenches.
- Ability to chemically treat repaired surfaces according to approved data.
- Capability to review and interpret paperwork for proper identification of parts and operational sequences.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Automotive trade school preferred.
- FAA Airframe license preferred but not required.
