Job Description

Join our team as a VC-25B General Mechanic in San Antonio, TX, where you will be responsible for on-aircraft general maintenance and modifications. This role requires a deep understanding of aircraft systems and structures, and the ability to work in a dynamic and flexible environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving of aircraft structure and systems in line with standard repair processes.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, and process specifications to carry out modifications and repairs.
  • Utilize tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level modification and repair of structural parts.
  • Handle flight controls installation, removal, and rigging, as well as landing gear and overall servicing of the aircraft.
  • Execute essential component changes, including servo pumps, filters, and engine components.
  • Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy requests.
  • Prioritize workload to maintain project schedules.
  • Ensure all equipment is used according to established safety and operating procedures.
  • Diagnose and correct malfunctions in assembly processes.
  • Use precision measuring instruments and tools to verify dimensions and quality requirements.
  • Maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits required for assigned work.
  • Adapt to working various shifts and schedules that may include weekends and holidays.

Essential Skills

  • A minimum of 4+ years of on-aircraft general maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in Depot Level/Heavy General maintenance.
  • Proficient in preserving aircraft structures and performing modifications.
  • Ability to obtain customer approval for aircraft access, noting that dual citizenship or previous citizenship in another country may preclude access.
  • Knowledge of shop mathematics and practices, as well as schematic and specification interpretation.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including aircraft systems and basic office software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • FAA A&P License or Military Technical School equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience performing engine runs and borescope inspections.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, mobile cranes, and electric powered elevating equipment.

Work Environment

The work environment involves exposure to noise and working on elevated platforms. Personal protective gear for face, eyes, ears, hands, and arms is required. Employees must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, and be prepared for scheduled and unscheduled overtime. Regular and predictable attendance is essential, and the ability to work in confined spaces and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds is required.

This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
