Reports to: Senior Licensed Aircraft Engineer, Chubu
Location / Country: Chubu / Japan

Support safe, reliable aircraft operations by delivering hands-on line maintenance that keeps Cathay aircraft and customers moving. Working on a shift basis at outport stations across Japan, Korea and Taiwan, this role plays a vital part in day-to-day operational readiness, directly influencing safety, punctuality and service consistency.

Under the supervision of a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, you will carry out aircraft maintenance and servicing activities, support ground equipment and facilities, and help manage parts, documentation and station administration. The work is practical and operational, requiring attention to detail, teamwork and a strong respect for safety standards, while also interacting with third-party service providers when applicable.

Beyond routine operations, the role contributes to disruption recovery, contingency situations and emergency response, offering exposure to the realities of line maintenance in a live operational environment. Through on-the-job training, performance reviews and career development discussions, this position builds a strong foundation for growth within Cathay Engineering, while contributing to a travel experience customers can trust.

• Perform aircraft maintenance on Cathay Group aircraft and, where applicable, third-party customer aircraft under the supervision of a Licensed Aircraft Engineer
• Work on a shift basis to support daily line maintenance operations and operational readiness
• Monitor the performance of third-party suppliers, including technical, ramp, de-icing and refuelling services, and follow up on operational issues
• Support contingency and ad hoc operational requirements, including diversions, charters, aircraft type changes and disruption recovery
• Carry out station administration duties and maintain valid station documentation and passes as directed
• Service and maintain station ground equipment, vehicles and facilities
• Control inventory and housekeeping of the aircraft parts store
• Undertake local or overseas operational relief duties when required
• Ensure compliance with local Occupational Health and Safety standards, regulations and guidelines
• Participate in emergency, accident and crisis response activities as required

• Demonstrably aptitude and understanding of aircraft maintenance operations
• Have (or be willing to receive) induction training / on the job training as required
• Must hold a valid Japanese driver’s license (MT)
• Willingness to undertake induction training and on-the-job training as required
• Excellent command in written and spoken Japanese and English
• Must have the legal right to live and work in Japan

• Base salary: JPY373,020/month
• Title allowance: JPY10,000/month
• Fixed allowance: JPY11,000/month (Ramp allowance)
• Corporate Defined Contribution Pension Plan: Up to JPY 55,000/month
• Other allowances: Subject to the company policy
• Social insurance: Unemployment insurance, Workers compensation insurance, Health insurance, Welfare pension insurance
• Commuting expense allowance: Up to JPY50,000/month
• Break time: 1 hour/day
• Off day: Two days off every week
• Probation period: 3 months
• Annual leave: 16 days in the first year after completing probationary period (prorated based on the month of joining)
• Potential for additional discretional bonus (depending on the company performance)
