Summary:
Assemble and fit detail parts and structures; perform drilling, riveting, and other assembly operations.
Rivet structural assemblies, including sheet metal parts, using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and precision equipment.
Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine assembly sequence and rivet specifications.
Align and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.
Check all work to ensure defect-free assemblies before final inspection.
Maintain logs, records, and resource planning systems (MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs).
Support Lean activities and continuous improvement initiatives (YIAW, Kaizen events).
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; comply with 5S and all safety regulations.
Perform additional duties and support other teams as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
1 year of structural assembly experience; one-year credit for graduates of Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Technical Certificate Program.
Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred.
Basic knowledge of aircraft structures, sheet metal, and fabrication processes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and 6" scale drawings.
Basic computer skills and ability to perform basic shop math.
Aptitude for hands-on craftwork, attention to detail, and professional attitude.
Ability to work effectively in a team and meet demanding schedules.
Knowledge of composite resins and materials.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders/stands/stairs, and work in confined or restricted spaces.
Must be able to work any shift.
Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
Demonstrated commitment to good housekeeping, safety practices, and quality compliance.
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
