GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Perform tire and wheel maintenance processes per the maintenance support requirements. Enters documentation of maintenance in NALCOMIS (VIDSMAFs).
DUTIES
- The AW shall have demonstrated maintenance knowledge, experience, and working level skills/ability in:
- CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) requirements.
- Aircraft and SE tire and wheel maintenance procedures, per NAVAIR 04-10-506, Aircraft Tires and Tubes and NAVAIR 01-1A-503, Maintenance of Aeronautical Antifriction Bearings.
- The AW shall have a minimum of one (1)year in the last ten (10) years aircraft maintenance experience at an I level of repair (with emphasis in aviation tire and wheel maintenance processes) to the level of effort and complexity of the requirements of this SOW. Examples of acceptable experience: Aviation Structural Mechanic (AM) enlisted (E-4 through E-6). Graduate from Navy A and C schools, other military service equivalent, or civilian training and experience.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year in the last ten (10) years aircraft maintenance experience at an I level of repair.
- Experience with Aircraft and SE tire and wheel maintenance procedures.
- Graduate from Navy A and C schools or other military service equivalent experience.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have or be able to obtain a National Agency Check with Investigation. The NACI process will include requesting a credit history.

- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
- May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
- Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
- Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
- Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
- May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
