Job Title: CASS Systems Analyst

Reports To: CASS Manager  

 

SUMMARY:   

Responsible to the CASS Manager for performing operational data analysis, which continually analyzes and surveys the effectiveness of the 10 elements of the Maintenance Program.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Responsible for compliance with CASS Department processes. Must identify any changes that will further the continuous improvement of departmental processes and will submit recommended policy and procedure changes to the CASS Manager for approval.

2. Conduct and present Preliminary Root Cause Analysis for each ATA Codes which alert for the month to the Reliability Steering Group (RSG) at the Monthly RSG meeting.

3. Analyze Level 2 Corrosion Prevention and Control Program (CPCP) findings and determine if a Preliminary Root Cause Analysis is required. If required, the CASS Systems Analyst will perform and present a Preliminary Root Cause Analysis to the RSG.

4. Monitor ETOPS Significant Systems and ETOPS Difficulty Report events for adverse trends and perform and present Preliminary Root Cause Analysis as required.

5. Monitor Service Difficulty Reports for aircraft discrepancies which meet the criteria for a Critical Failure and perform a Preliminary Root Cause Analysis.

6. Present alert findings from items 1, 2, 3, & 4 above to the CASS Data Coordinator for inclusion in the monthly CASS Maintenance Report and CASS/RSG briefing slides. Brief the negative findings to the RSG for corrective action.

7. Perform Final Root Cause Analysis, develop Corrective Action Plans, and Follow-Up Plans to present to the RSG for Alerts when deemed necessary by the RSG for an in-depth analysis.

8. Request technical support from Technical Experts in the performance of a Final Root Cause Analysis when required.

9. Act as the focal point for tracking the progress of Root Cause Analysis and report the status to the RSG as key milestones are achieved. Track and record all actions and milestones associated with system alerts.

10. Must identify any changes made to the Systems Analyst Program to the CASS Manager which will further the continuous improvement of departmental processes.

11. Must be familiar with all phases of operational data analysis for which he/she has responsibility.

12. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Quality Control or CASS Manager.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. 


QUALIFICATIONS  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A two-year college degree in Aviation, Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Airframe or Power Plant License preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge with Aircraft Systems and reliability.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and skills of computer applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point software required.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of statistics, able to research and use analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail, communication, and presentation skills to work with all levels across the company.
  • Experience and understanding of regulatory compliance of regulations, manuals, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong ability in written/oral communications, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be capable of simultaneously managing multiple projects. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write detailed analysis reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS  

Intermediate ability to conduct basic mathematics; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Intermediate ability to convert between different units of measure. Intermediate to advanced aptitude to perform statistical formulas and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
