PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a top-tier aerospace leader to hire a Final Line Mechanic with advanced experience and leadership capability. In this critical role, you’ll perform complex aircraft installations while guiding team members and ensuring every system meets exacting standards before final inspection and delivery.
Your Impact
As a senior-level mechanic on the final line, you are one of the last and most important hands on the aircraft. Your expertise ensures safety, quality, and performance—while your leadership helps elevate the entire team’s success.
What You’ll Do
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Perform complex aircraft installations, structural repairs, rework, and testing across multiple systems
Install parts, components, lines, cables, and assemblies using blueprints, specifications, and operational requirements
Ensure all installations meet strict quality and conformity standards; perform rework when necessary
Troubleshoot mechanical and structural issues and implement effective solutions
Manage parts and materials within your workstation using proper documentation and controls
Train and mentor team members in interpreting blueprints, drawings, and engineering orders
Develop improved methods and shop aids to overcome installation challenges
Coordinate with other departments to maintain efficient production flow
Plan and organize workloads and resources as needed; may act as Team Coordinator
Utilize a wide range of tools, fixtures, jigs, and hydraulic mule pumps
Maintain accurate logs and records (MIR sheets, DMTs, PCOs, etc.)
Inspect your own work to ensure defect-free installations prior to final inspection
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and support FOD and 5S programs
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Support aircraft certification efforts, including potential involvement in flight testing
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
5+ years of aerospace/aviation experience OR equivalent mechanical experience (automotive, heavy equipment, etc.)
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams
Advanced mechanical skills with experience in complex installations and troubleshooting
Proficiency in close-tolerance work (drilling, reaming, fitting components, etc.)
Strong understanding of precision measuring tools and ability to work within tight tolerances
Ability to solve dimensional problems using fractions, decimals, and whole numbers
Experience using a wide variety of tools, fixtures, and installation equipment
Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license
Experience with Solumina and Smarteam systems
Production Quality training
Prior experience mentoring or leading team members

Pay Details: $32.19 per hour
