Job Title: Furnace Maintenance Technician

SUMMARY

Applies mechanical and electrical theory and related knowledge to monitor, repair, and maintain all functions of the forge and heat treat furnaces by performing the following duties with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. In performing functions, duties or tasks, employees must know and follow safe work practices and be aware of Company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations. All functions, duties, or tasks are to be carried out honestly, ethically, and professionally and to be performed in conformance with applicable Company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of Company policies and procedures, employees must request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives.

  • Maintains equipment by manufacturer&39;s specifications.
  • Per preventative maintenance procedures and check furnaces and associated equipment following work order procedures.
  • Rectifies faults and problems reported by the production department under the supervisor&39;s instructions.
  • Assists supervisor in establishing procedures for preventive maintenance of furnaces and equipment.
  • Manufacturers survey thermocouples as defined in the most recent Work Instructions.
  • Manufactures thermocouples for production and laboratory testing as defined in the most recent Work Instruction.
  • Carries out necessary repairs to the furnace linings
  • Manufactures refractory fiber modules to specifications.
  • Prepares and sets survey stands to defined procedures and by the most recent Work Instructions.
  • Assists contractors with refractory installations.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or five years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of introductory algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret multiple instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $28.00 to $35.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 40 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
