Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with approved technical data, to customer supplications and regulatory requirements.
- Use appropriate inspection techniques, and calibrated equipment for the unit/part bring accomplished.
- Utilizes the proper test equipment or suitable alternative and performs preventative as needed.
- Records information and accomplishes the work assignment in compliance with the Inspection Procedures Manual and - Quality Policies and Procedures.
- Comply with all safety recommendations and requirements.
- Engage in generating and implementing ideas and processes to help the continuous improvement so that department goals are met and exceeded.
- The technician is required to complete a supervised training program as well as read and understand any pertinent training or department procedural manuals.
- Perform work assignments as determined by the shop management.
- Assist Department Manager and Engineers with new capability development of repairs received.
- Maintain open two-way communication with Manager and teammates appropriately sharing both good and bad news.
- Maintaining personal shop calibrated tools is satisfactory operational condition.
- Comply with all safety directives and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Reports to Department Manager.
- Daily interaction with Quality Inspectors, Engineers, and buyers.
- Daily interaction with internal departments.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Bachelors Degree preferred.
- A&P License (Preferred)
- Two (2) years of aviation experience
- Previous work experience may be considered.
- Experience in industry with mechanical aptitude.
Abilities and Skills:
- Must multi-task/ be project-oriented and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced industry, meeting established timelines.
- Excellent verbal, writing, listening, and interpersonal skills to interact with all functional levels of internal contacts.
- Detail orientated and organized.
- Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Willing to work additional hours when operational objectives require it.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to exercise informed risk-taking in order to make judgement calls.
- Ability to prioritize and to work without close supervision.
- Two to Five (2-5) years of combined bench or testing experience for troubleshooting of Hydraulic components. - Actuator, Actuator with Switch and Valve, PCUs, Hydraulic pumps, THSA and B-777 Strut Actuator and Hydraulic components.
- Extensive knowledge of Hydraulic components is required for this position.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to bend, squat, sit, stand, walk, and handle objects. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull, stack, reach above shoulder level or carry light-weight materials.
- May be required to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals, abrasive blast residue, paint fumes, and high pitch sound may occur. - Personal Protective Equipment is required in specified areas.
