Job Description:

We are partnered with an Air Ambulance Transportation operator in the Southeastern United States to help them identify a Lead Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT).  This individual will be responsible for a wide variety of mechanical/structural removal, installation, repair, and modifications on company aircraft, engines, and components. All work will be performed following OEM maintenance manuals including FAA approved engineering data/drawings, supporting company policies/procedures, and/or supervisory instructions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This individual will be responsible for a wide variety of mechanical/structural removal, installation, repair, and modifications on company aircraft, engines, and components
  • Troubleshooting potentially complex mechanical and systems based discrepancies
  • Requires ability to read, interpret, and apply repair manual guidance
  • Safely and efficiently complete repairs to the highest level of quality
  • Required to assemble close tolerance parts, use special tooling such as torque wrenches, calipers, and pneumatic drills
  • Compliance with all FAA, OEM, or applicable regulations and guidance
Job Requirements:
  • Responsible for performing routine maintenance and inspections; trouble-shoot, repair, and perform modifications of airframe components and associated equipment; engine removal and installation; operating/maintaining company equipment, component repair and overhaul. Performs Learjet 31, 35A, 45 airframe and engine OEM maintenance
  • Must have experience with basic hand tools and demonstrate knowledge of mechanical skills
  • Requires the ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, T.O. specs, and engineering specifications
  • Ability to assemble close tolerance parts and use hand tools such as pneumatic drills and rivet guns
  • Must have own tools
  • Make entries into maintenance logs & work orders IAW 14 CFR Part 43 and Operator/Air Carrier manuals

Experience & Education:

  • A valid Airframe & Powerplant License
  • Learjet 35/31 experience
  • Learjet 45 experience is a plus
  • Avionics experience is a plus.
  • High School Education or GED equivalent

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and portable stands without assistance
  • Must be able to work at heights 20 feet above the ground
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat/cold
  • Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, odors, and dust
  • Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, balance, push, pull, kneel, grasp, crouch, crawl, work in narrow aisles/passageways, and work in close spaces that restrict movement including aircraft fuel tanks for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to stand for sustained periods of time
  • Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes
  • Must be able to lift/maneuver up to 50 pounds
