Job Description

As a Maintenance Controller, you will be tasked with performing routine checks and balances of systems and records daily. You will spend the majority of your time on the phone with pilots and mechanics to address discrepancies and troubleshoot issues. Your role will involve deferring items with maintenance and flight crews, taking calls to take planes out of service, and monitoring the status of maintenance items.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily monitoring of deferred maintenance items (DMI) and ensure they are troubleshot timely.
  • Begin the process of ordering parts and resolving deferred items.
  • Conduct daily line checks and tire pressure checks, along with scheduling service updates.
  • Work with short and intermediate planning teams to ensure routing for scheduled maintenance.
  • Provide clear communication affecting maintenance status, action plans, and return to service estimates to Flight Operations, Management, and Maintenance Department personnel.
  • Coordinate directly with flight crew members to address operational discrepancies and obtain necessary information for repairs.
  • Utilize maintenance tracking computer systems for planning, scheduling, and logistics to complete scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Update the Computerized Maintenance Tracking Program and Flight Operations Software with verified compliance and maintenance status information.
  • Ensure mechanical delays are handled safely and expediently following the General Maintenance Manual (GMM).
  • Coordinate with Flight Operations, Maintenance, and Purchasing to expedite aircraft return to service.
  • Track and control all deferred maintenance items and ensure parts are ordered according to procedures.
  • Authorize deferred maintenance items in compliance with company manuals and FARs.
  • Complete and distribute applicable forms and documents as per the General Maintenance Manual.
  • Track parts and equipment in transit to aircraft on ground (AOG).
  • Serve as the point of contact for maintenance performed on company aircraft away from the main maintenance base.
  • Perform maintenance planning and track scheduled maintenance workload.
  • Obtain required approvals for Ferry Flight Authorization Forms.
  • Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance performed on company aircraft.
Essential Skills
  • A&P certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Ability to multitask and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in executing basic functions and programs on a PC.
  • Good typing skills and basic spreadsheet management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • CRG 700/900 and part station 121 experience preferred.
  • Experience in regional carrier or CRJ service center is advantageous.
  • Candidate must be willing to relocate to STL full time.

Work Environment

The position involves a heavy phone-driven, multitasking environment with priorities constantly changing based on incoming maintenance issues. You will work 12-hour shifts with a 3-day work week schedule, alternating every other Wednesday. Candidates must be open to working either day or overnight shifts, with schedules including Sun, Mon, Tues, and every other Wednesday, or every other Wednesday, Thurs, Fri, Sat.

The pay range for this position is $77000.00 - $87000.00/yr.
