Description:This role involves analyzing malfunctions and performing necessary repairs on the mechanical components of non-Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment, as well as maintaining these systems. The technician will identify and carry out the repair and maintenance operations needed to restore equipment to normal operation, including performing major overhauls on various types of machinery such as hydraulic presses, radial drill presses, jig borers, milling machines, boring mills, shears, punch presses, pumps, and similar complex equipment. The technician will also perform repair and maintenance on exhaust and ventilation fans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect machinery while in operation for defects or faults and determine the necessary repairs to restore functionality or prevent breakdowns.
- Determine the most effective method for dismantling equipment to access and address identified issues, using a variety of mechanics tools as needed.
- Identify the cause of malfunctions, obtain replacement parts, and create sketches for machining replacement parts as necessary.
- Set up and operate various machine tools to carry out required machining operations, or forward material and sketches to the machine shop for part fabrication.
- Inspect replacement parts for proper dimensions using precision measuring instruments, ensuring accuracy.
- Reassemble equipment, conduct operational tests, and make adjustments to ensure efficient performance.
-Remove packing lubricants from new equipment and replace them with operational lubricants, following manufacturer specifications or verbal instructions.
- Replace broken or lost fittings, tighten lubrication line fittings, and maintain lubrication systems, including oil filters and cups.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as oiling and greasing machines, cleaning machinery, and replenishing oil reservoirs and coolant systems.
- Study blueprints, bills of materials, sketches, and specifications to plan the sequence of operations for the rigging, alignment, movement, and balancing of equipment.
- Mix coolants and cutting oils as required and monitor for excessive wear in machinery parts (e.g., pulleys, bearings, belts, shafts) during scheduled maintenance.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain records of maintenance activities, including lubrication and replacement schedules.

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams in a collaborative, inclusive environment.
Strong mechanical skills and the ability to use hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with machinery maintenance schedules, blueprints, and technical specifications.

Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of 3 Years practical experience or qualified educational certification equivalent, as a mechanic working in a manufacturing / machine tool environment.
Must be able to independently operate hand and power equipment of various types, necessary for the accomplishment of duties as described in the above job description.
Basic Computer Skills to access maintenance work order systems, input daily time keeping, perform company training and access company e-mail.
Ability to work alone without direction or supervision.
Must be able to perform task as described in the job description and ability to work on a 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift.
Competently able to use computers and other systems to access, maintain and input data.
Must have the ability to wear safety glasses, shoes and gloves as required where applicable.

Uses a variety of mechanical tools, and precision measuring instruments as required. Makes adjustments on cables and/or operating mechanisms to insure efficiency operation of equipment.
Makes sketches for parts to be machined or fabricated as required. Load tests cables and monorail assembly using necessary weights. May be required to perform Millwright duties as necessary.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
