Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Early Career Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you will:

• Support the mechanical design team by performing tasks such as design, and development support for ground structures and generate detailed design of hardware structures.
• Create CAD models, interface drawings, and detailed build-to-print drawings, release drawings/models to engineering configuration control, and perform varied tasks with direction from a senior lead engineer
• Research, plan, design and develop mechanical ground systems
• Participate in issue resolution, developing solutions to technical problems of varying complexity while assuring sound technical content and timely closure.

The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of hardware design, CAD programs, GD&T, configuration management, and integration methods. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering
or other related program degree from an accredited college/university.
• Knowledge of Mechanical CAD modeling and drafting
• Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills:
• Excellent closure skills.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Experience of solid modeling using CREO
• Experience or coursework in drafting and ME design techniques and standards.
• Experience or coursework and understanding of CAD tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team based environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
