Overview

The Receiving Inspector ensures that all parts and materials brought into the system for the support and maintenance of aircraft are serviceable, airworthy, and quality standards are maintained throughout the entire receiving process. The tasks required for this role involve the inspection of parts, assemblies, chemicals, and materials for conformance to specifications, check of the quantity and part number of items received to ensure completeness and accuracy of order, and the verification of the Certification paperwork for compliance with FAA, EASA and other regulatory agencies, as well as Atlas Air company requirements and specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Determine if all parts and materials are serviceable or unserviceable per the requirements of the General Maintenance Manual and all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Inspect incoming material for conformance to purchase order requirements, engineering orders, service bulletins and in accordance with Atlas Air receiving inspection procedures
  • Verify that received products meet the requirements of process standards and specifications and are free of defects, poor workmanship, and document discrepancies.
  • Document anomalies and non-conformances.
  • Develop standards, procedures, and inspection records in accordance with company General Maintenance Manual and all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Obtain and maintain all process certification required for assigned tasks.
  • Use initiative in carrying out recurring assignments independently without specific instruction but receives additional specific instructions from management for new, difficult, or special projects/assignments
  • Plan and carry out work assignments solving conflicts that may arise; coordinate work with other areas, as necessary
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the QC department, the strategic business units, and strategic support units in the company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other warehouse duties as necessary and assigned by leadership.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • Aviation or airline experience in the field of Quality Control or Quality Assurance preferred
  • Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software (TRAX, Oracle, or SAP)
  • Familiarity with training programs
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills
  • Strong Computer Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project, etc.)
  • Must be able to meet departmental expectations to effectively drive results
  • Good people and communication skills
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Open to operate in a collaborative environment
  • Must possess integrity, honesty and strong work ethic
  • Proven ability to think strategically and act tactically
  • Poised, self-confident, tenacious and flexible

Skills:

  • Preferred Aviation trade school and or A&P license
  • Strong project management capabilities. Detail oriented. Proven ability to lead projects to successful and timely conclusions. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and lead multiple projects at the same time.
  • Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, and influencing skills.

Salary Range: $59,000- $79,500

Financial offer within the stated range will be based on multiple factors to include but not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset.
