Position Overview
In this role, the Simulator Technician will be expected to perform complex but standard technical tasks including preventative and corrective maintenance work in office, on site, and in the field and may execute some design
work.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Prepares training devices for daily operation
Perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems
Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems
Diagnose and correct routine problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems
Utilize maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities
Train technicians in basic skills
Perform pre-flight and post flight on all simulators
Perform visual alignments
Run and evaluate Qualification Test Guide (QTG) results
Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications
Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner
Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation
Qualifications:
2-year technical post-secondary education or equivalent related training
On-aircraft or simulator experience considered an asset
Computer skills considered an asset
Proficiency in using all types of test equipmentu2019s
Ability to assist with projects such as refurbishments and other hardware modifications
Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite
Physically able to perform manual labour tasks and able to work in confined spaces
Be able to hold a Canadian Security Clearance & Controlled Good Clearance
Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work Permit
