Aerotek is seeking aircraft structures mechanics in Central Point, OR. Pay range $30-52/hour DOE, per diem available.Must be comfortable performing a structures test on or before the first day. Must have own tools - basic hand tools minimum.
Job Description
As a Structures Mechanic, you will be responsible for the heavy maintenance and build-up/refurbishment of heavy-lift commercial operations helicopters (S64). Utilizing blueprints, you will perform repairs by riveting, countersinking, bending, and cutting sheet metal, and installing structural components. Mechanics will be assigned tasks based on their abilities, such as fabrication or installation.
Responsibilities
- Perform heavy maintenance and refurbishment on heavy-lift commercial helicopters (S64).
- Utilize blueprints to guide repair tasks such as riveting, countersinking, bending, and cutting sheet metal.
- Install structural components as needed.
- Assignments will be based on individual abilities, with fabrication mechanics focusing on fabrication tasks and installers focusing on installation tasks.
Essential Skills- Experience with structures, sheet metal, aircraft, and helicopters.
- Ability to perform sheet metal repair, including riveting, installing, and countersinking.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Comfortable performing a Structures test on or before the first day (including riveting and bending tasks).
- Possession of basic hand tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- A&P certification preferred but not required.
- 5+ years of experience preferred, but open to candidates with less experience.
- Ability to drill, cut, bend, countersink, and rivet aircraft sheet metal.

Work Environment
You will work in aircraft hangar and shop areas located in Medford, OR, and Central Point, OR (10 minutes apart). The environment includes advanced electronic tool cribs with access to various tools. The day shift runs from Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. After three months, you may be moved to a 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM shift. The second shift is new, with a lead already in place and a team being built.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $42.00 - $52.00/hr.
