As a TIG Welder you will be responsible for the precision welding of aerospace components using Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding techniques. You will work to high-quality standards, following technical drawings, weld procedures, and company quality systems to ensure the production of safe and reliable components for the aerospace industry.
Perform TIG welding on a variety of aerospace-grade metals including stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and aluminum.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding procedures.
Conduct visual inspections and measurements to ensure welds meet required specifications and tolerances.
Set up and operate welding equipment and tools in accordance with safety standards.
Maintain weld logs and complete relevant documentation in line with Safran’s quality management system.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and reporting defects, inefficiencies, or safety hazards.
Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve any fabrication or assembly issues.
Adhere strictly to aerospace quality standards such as AS9100, NADCAP, and company-specific certifications.
Participate in training, audits, and re-certification as required to maintain qualifications.
Proven experience in TIG welding, ideally within aerospace, defense, or precision engineering.
Ability to pass Safran’s weld tests and obtain/maintain relevant certifications (e.g., EN 9606, AWS D17.1).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and weld symbols.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations and the ability to maintain a safe work environment.
Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Welding, Fabrication, or a related discipline.
Experience with aerospace quality standards and audit processes.
NADCAP welding accreditation (preferred).
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 5S principles.
