Position Summary
Reporting to the Test Services Lead, the EMI Test technician will perform shielding effectiveness testing of materials and EMI/EMC/ESD compliance testing. Reviews test request requirements, providing feedback to the Test Services lead.
Responsibilities
- Performs EMI/EMC/ESD/ Shielding Effectiveness Testing for external and internal customers.
- Reports to the Test Services lead and generates test data and test reports.
- Assist in the calibration readiness for the Test Services Department.
- Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this role, it will be performed fulltime on site.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Use appropriate PPE for designated area.
- Assist in the Quality Assurance program by reporting defects and conforming to ISO 17025 standards.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen with the ability to get Department of Defense Security Clearance required.
- GED or High School Diploma required.
- Relevant Work Experience: 0-2 years experience in EMI/EMC testing and analysis required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM Field (i.e Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field) with 2 years of experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and within a team to meet time sensitive deadlines required.
- Ability to read, write, and understand basic English required
- Working knowledge of EMI/EMC Compliance Testing such as MIL-STD-461, DO 160 and IEC61000 family preferred.
- Excellent electrical and Radio Frequency (RF) comprehensions with the ability to understand, describe or discuss problems of a technical nature preferred.
