Role Introduction
Reports to: Airline Partnerships and Tariffs Manager
The Assistant Alliances and Airline Partnerships Manager will manage a portfolio of airline partners with the aim of maximizing revenue for Cathay Pacific. Overall responsibilities include negotiating, implementing and maintaining different forms of airline partnerships, such as interline & codeshare, HK Express, intermodal, joint venture, FFP (Frequent Flyer Program), oneworld, and/or lounges.
Key Responsibilities
- Devise and formulate new partnership initiatives to maximize revenue for Cathay Pacific (CX).
- Conduct data analysis and regular reviews in the assigned portfolio (Interline & Codeshare / Intermodal / HK Express / Joint Ventures / FFP / oneworld / lounges).
- Manage and foster relationships with partners and/or stakeholders in the assigned portfolio. Act as the central liaison and coordinate all interline related activities within the CX Group.
- Lead, negotiate and manage the implementations of new partnerships/initiatives – from preparing agreements and operating procedures to managing communications with key stakeholders. Liaise with interline partners and internal departments to ensure smooth implementation.
- Promote airline partnerships, provide regular trainings and/or updates to internal users to ensure maximum value of each partnership is derived across the organization.
- Keep track of industry activities and conduct research when required.
- Protect CX revenue by coordinating with Revenue Management, other related departments, and partners to prevent fraudulent and/or abusive activities.
- Act as the project owner, liaise with the IT and other teams to ensure smooth implementation of projects. Participate in system development projects to provide business requirements and cost/benefit analysis.
- Coach, supervise, empower subordinates to attain the highest desired level of job knowledge and skills. Formulate succession planning to ensure continuity is achieved. Cultivate teamwork within and between sections / departments.
- Support the Airline Partnerships Manager in handling day-to-day issues and studies when needed. Deputise when required.
Requirements
- Degree holder, major in Business Administration, Statistics, Aviation or related field is preferred
- Minimum 5 years of airline working experience, with preference given to commercial related fields
- Experience in data analytical tools (e.g. Qlikview, Qlik Sense, Alteryx, Tableau) will be an advantage
- Embrace changes and able to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Strong commercial background and is able to make insight-led decisions
- Strong relationship building skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- People management experience is preferred
- Must be fluent in English and Chinese (both written and spoken)
