Our client, a leader in primary flight training and one of the largest flight schools in the Northeast is excited to be expanding to a second location in Treasure Coast, Florida! They're currently searching for a Chief Pilot/General Manager to build and lead the new team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement or change policies and procedures as necessary to increase training quality, reduce risk impact, and ensure continuous improvement of training materials, curriculum, and testing standards for the best possible training outcomes. 
  • Conduct instructor training and FAR Part 141 proficiency checks as needed. 
  • Conduct student training and stage checks as required. 
  • Perform all additional Chief Instructor responsibilities as outlined in FAR Part 141.85. 
  • Collaborate with the Training Department on training course creation, updates, and implementation. 
  • Work closely with the Director of Safety to establish and maintain appropriate standards for the highest level of safety for Flight Training Center personnel. 
  • Manage the station operations, including overseeing day-to-day functions, student tracking, and other management oversight. 
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the growth and efficiency of the location. 
  • Oversee station financial management, including budgeting and financial reporting. 
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies. 
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote a culture of safety, quality, and excellence. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, partners, and customers at the satellite base. 
  • 25% of the job will involve flying duties, including conducting flights as necessary.
Job Requirements:
  • Must hold an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with an Airplane Category, SEL/MEL Class Ratings, and Instrument Rating. 
  • Must possess CFI, CFII, and MEI certificates. 
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field. 

Experience:

  • Meet requirements of FAR 141.35 Chief Instructor. 
  • Min 2000 Total Time 

Skills & Abilities: 

  • Ability to pass a Part 141 Chief Instructor proficiency check for both single and multi-engine airplanes. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor. 
  • Dependable and reliable. 
  • Ability to provide a high level of instruction. 
  • Ability to coordinate with necessary people and departments to ensure successful completion of tasks and projects
  • Ability to identify problems or potential problems and develop and implement solutions. 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, proactively find ways to stay busy and assist others. 
  • Extreme attention to detail. 
  • Innovative and creative, find faster ways to do tasks to save time for the organization. 
  • Adaptable to changing environments and company needs. 
  • Less than 10% travel
