Job Summary:
As part of an agile Davenport Plant team, and reporting to the Davenport Vice President of Manufacturing, there is a great opportunity to get involved in all aspects of communications, local and national government, develop new skills, take initiative, show creativity, lead projects and make a real difference. Your initial, primary focus would be to further develop and maintain Arconic’s global internal and external digital, online and offline media. You would develop content and run internal communications for our facility, handle content for local social media channels, in close cooperation with a plant initiatives and needs. In addition, you will handle local governmental affairs items.
In this role, you will:
- Support the Plant Leadership Team in implementing Arconic’s local communications strategy.
- Serve as the face for Davenport Works’ for all Community Relations related items.
- Manage tactical implementation of projects related to digital communications, including external company website, intranet, online events and webinars, digital asset management and other digital communications platforms.
- Further develop Davenport Works’ social media strategy and content and implement digital communication campaigns including but not limited to Facebook, LinkedIn and any future tools/devices.
- Handle all internal communication within the plant, to include newsletter and month video updates.
- Be the key point person for the local submissions and requests for support or grants provided to Arconic Foundation, Arconic’s independent charitable foundation, which partners with nonprofit and community organizations to strengthen Arconic’s communities.
- Conduct monitoring of company’s social media accounts and compile reports.
- Develop content for internal and external online communications channels, including SharePoint based intranet and other platforms.
- Participate in communications initiatives and special projects, including support of the Inclusion and Engagement Committee
- Provide support to other members of the Communications Team located at other facilities or in our corporate headquarters.
- Participate in collection, review, analysis, and reporting of data and metrics for communications initiatives and surveys.
You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Communications and Community relations type role
- Digitally savvy, up to speed on the latest digital tools and channels and expertise in social media and digital spaneting through web, social, mobile, search, apps and webcasts
- Thorough understanding of social and digital media and the relationship between internal and external communications
- Willingness to continuously learn and stretch beyond abilities
- Passion for furthering a company’s business goals through communications
- Creative thinker and problem solver - Excellent communication and presentation skills - Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
- Experience in media measurement and analysis - Self-starter, highly responsive, and able to work well with individuals at all levels.

Exceptional Candidates also have:
- Strong knowledge of main digital and social media platforms as well as Adobe Photoshop required, familiarity with other Adobe CS applications a plus.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines while managing multiple assignments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write and publish concise copy in a fast-paced environment.
