Key Responsibilities:

The Director Accounting and Transformation is a role which requires technical accounting competence while demonstrating a continuous improvement mentality. This position leads all aspects of staff-performed key contributions towards the monthly close process and preparation of consolidated financial statements and internal reporting packages (BS/IS/CFS) as well as other activities such as:

  • Oversee month-end/quarter-end close business processes and related reporting
  • Manage the team to ensure accurate and reliable financial data is presented in SEC filings and internally published financial statements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Financial Planning, Corporate Accounting, Loyalty, Lease Accounting, Investor Relations, and others to ensure accurate and timely accounting mentorship is provided to the business
  • Drive improvement initiatives across Controllership leadership through partnership engagement, providing technical accounting expertise
  • Ensure efficient integrations and standard process data governance procedures while working closely with project team(s)
  • Support and develop team members in the organization, including identification of opportunities for process improvements and upskilling on the latest technologies
  • Work closely with Controllership leaders to understand and document process/data flow designs to memorialize improvement opportunities and establish a baseline for future training/onboarding materials
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • 10+ years of related experience inclusive of 7+ years of experience in a financial leadership role within a large, multinational company
  • 3+ years of a successful track record leading and developing teams, particularly in times of significant change, is critical
  • Strong understanding of technical accounting rules, accounting processes and key internal controls
  • A highly motivated individual with strong leadership, analytical and organizational skills
  • Self-confidence with ability to collaborate with and develop consensus among multiple constituencies at varying levels
  • Demonstrated ability to translate critical initiatives into tactical implementation plans
Preferred
  • Masters of Business Administration
  • Experience in airline or similar industry
  • Strong understanding of data and Artificial Intelligence, including the people, data, processes, and technology needed to make financial reporting a strong and sustainable capability

The base pay range for this role is $155,895.00 to $212,410.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
