Position Overview:
The Senior Director of Logistics will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational efficiency of StandardAeros global logistics and supply chain functions. This role will lead and manage the end-to-end logistics processes, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and service excellence for both internal and external stakeholders. The Senior Director will work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, operations, and customer service, to drive operational improvements and meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the overall logistics strategy and global transportation network design, ensuring alignment with StandardAero’s business objectives and growth plans.
- Logistics Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of global logistics functions, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, freight audit & payment, and order fulfillment.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure timely deliveries across multiple regions.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing logistics team. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and customer-centricity.
- Supplier and Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, freight carriers, and suppliers to ensure optimal performance and cost-effective solutions.
- Budget Management: Oversee logistics budgets and ensure resources are allocated efficiently. Monitor and control costs to meet financial targets.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all logistics activities comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines. Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to the supply chain.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments, such as global trade compliance, procurement, operations, engineering, and sales, to optimize the flow of goods and materials and meet customer requirements.
- Technology Integration: Stay ahead of industry trends and technological advancements, implementing advanced logistics systems and tools to drive innovation and efficiency in logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain management, or operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong expertise in logistics management, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory control, in a global and complex environment.
- Proven track record of developing and executing logistics strategies that drive cost savings, efficiency, and service improvement.
- Experience working with third-party logistics providers and managing vendor relationships.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.
- Solid understanding of supply chain management principles and tools (e.g., ERP systems, TMS, WMS).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of global trade regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to logistics and transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the aerospace or manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Ability to travel (around 15)
