SUMMARY:
The Duty Manager is responsible for making decisions to ensure the safe, efficient, and economical operation of all Kalitta Air aircraft. The primary purpose of this position is to support the management of Kalitta Air Operations in meeting a wide variety of user requirements for commercial and military air transport.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Monitors all Kalitta Air flights to completion.
· Resolves any operational issues, which may affect regularly scheduled operations, and evaluates overall operation impact of delays and/or cancellations.
· Monitors and verifies delay reporting, company e-mail correspondence, schedule change notification, and aircraft movement information, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
· Keeps Kalitta Air management apprised of status and developments on all flights, including emergencies.
· Guides OCC personnel during regular and irregular daily operations.
· Assesses workload, adjusting task allocation as necessary to provide a safe and efficient working environment.
· Analyzes issues that have a potential impact on flights, and relay that information to operating departments, supporting agencies, spaneting, department managers, The Director of Operations, Maintenance Control, Air Traffic Control, and senior company management, as appropriate.
· Reviews and recommends the most efficient transportation options to optimize the use of resources in meeting customer’s requirements.
· Supports organizational policies and senior management through analysis and constructive suggestions.
· Performs additional duties and tasks as required by the Manager of the Operations Control Center.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Duty Manager supervises on-shift OCC personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS
Each Duty Manager must hold an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher License or obtain a license as soon as practical. They must also be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be a High school graduate, it is desired applicant have some college and/or technical school. Applicants must have a good working knowledge of world geography and flight operations. Experience in an airline operations center is required.
Applicant must demonstrate through the interview process the capability to speak and read the English language. Demonstrate the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Demonstrate the ability to convert between different units of measure, compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
