Overview

Job Summary:

Responsible for leading and managing Pool Pilots and Float Clinicians across the Air Methods network of bases. Manage all logistics and communications required regarding assignments within business unit goals. Oversee and approve all travel, vacation requests and shift trades. Interface with Field Operations, Aviation & Clinical COEs, HR and crew members to resolve performance issues and concerns.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Responsible to review and approve crew member payroll, vacation requests, shift trades and bonus shift opportunities. Coordinate with Field Operations requests for modification of scheduling events (meetings, trainings, etc.) and potential re-assignment needs.

  • Oversee and approve all logistics for crew member base assignments including travel, hotel, car rental expense reports and off duty housing options. Ensure audits and approvals for travel policy requirements are completed. Work with teams ensure compliance with travel and scheduling policies and systems. Approve travel in Egencia as appropriate.

  • Develop close working relationship with COE leaders, Field Operations, and pilot and clinical staff. Discuss issues and communicate key information about assignments. Trusted resource to engage the teammate in their assignment. Engage teammates on a consistent, structured basis.

  • Responsible for coordinating Clinical Float and Pool Pilot compliance with local licensing requirements with Aviation and Clinical COE teams. Regularly communicates with COE teams on certification expiration and collaborates on timeline for obtaining licensure. Coordinates with COE teams on additional cross training opportunities and Field Operations regarding training events. Collaborates with COE to ensure disciplinary items are addressed consistently across the teams.

  • Maintain communication between Field Operations, COE teams, and self for bases that have Pool Pilots/Floats assigned, providing timelines, contact information, training information and more as needed when assignments are decided. Update Area Managers when assignment decisions are changed in a timely manner. Manage and maintain equipment needs through Coupa and Asset Tracking.

  • Responsible for maintaining Clinical Float and Pool Pilot utilization rates by reviewing existing headcounts & making recommendations, reviewing current qualifications & recommending cross training, ensuring trainings and assignment changes are resolved as efficiently as possible. Resolve any potential future travel/pay that does not align with best practices in the business.

  • Responsible for the recruitment, performance management, compensation (as needed), and teammate development for the area in collaboration with HR and COE partners. Regularly evaluates and manages employee relations issues, addressing low performing teammates, including termination, in conjunction with COE partners. Effectively coaches and models appropriate leadership behaviors.

  • Available on call to deal with scheduling requirements and emerging staffing issues, 24x7

  • Other duties as assigned

For Exempt Managers: Managers that carry out these responsibilities for two or more employees will have significant input in hiring and termination decisions.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from four-year college or university and two to four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

USD $85,000.00/Yr.

USD $110,000.00/Yr.
