We are seeking a forward-thinking and detail-oriented IT Innovation Portfolio Manager to lead the management of our technology innovation portfolio. This role is responsible for defining and maintaining roadmaps for IT innovation initiatives, establishing governance structures, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will combine strategic planning expertise, a strong understanding of emerging technologies, and effective portfolio management skills to drive innovation and deliver measurable business value.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Innovation Portfolio Strategy and Roadmapping
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive roadmap for IT innovation initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new technologies and innovation opportunities to enhance business capabilities.
- Collaborate with leadership to define the vision and strategic direction of the innovation portfolio.
Governance and Oversight
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks to oversee the lifecycle of innovation initiatives.
- Define criteria for project evaluation, approval, and prioritization based on strategic value, risk, and ROI.
- Monitor portfolio performance, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication
- Act as a liaison between IT, business units, and external partners to ensure alignment on innovation goals.
- Present portfolio updates, project statuses, and insights to executives and other stakeholders.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to facilitate successful project execution.
Risk Management and Adaptability
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with innovation initiatives, including technical and operational challenges.
- Working with stakeholders, continuously adapt the portfolio in response to shifting organizational priorities or spanet conditions.
Minimum Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in IT portfolio management, innovation strategy, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of IT roadmaps, governance frameworks, and emerging technologies.
- Proficiency in project/portfolio management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet).
