Arconic is currently in search of an Ingot Area Manager to join our Tennessee Operations in Alcoa, TN.

Arconic Tennessee Operations is seeking a talented Ingot Area Manager for our Tennessee Operations Ingot facility. This position will be responsible for the 24/7 operation of the Ingot casting facility at Arconic’s Tennessee Operations. Under the direction of the Lead Area Manager, the successful candidate will be accountable for all aspects of safety, quality, productivity, maintenance, and cost while ensuring on-time delivery ingots to the Tennessee Hotmill facility. The successful candidate will supervise various positions including but not limited to production coordinators, supervisors, and hourly production.
Leadership Performance:
- Align with the Lead Area Manager to ensure the execution of the production and financial goals and expectations
- Support the plant in strategic business improvement activities that will focus on improving the safety, quality, delivery, and productivity with a results-oriented approach
- Accelerate and manage change in the process, product, and resources of the department
- Act as SMART Manufacturing SPA to drive technology to meet business objectives
- Responsible for planning and leading lean continuous improvement.
- Lead the Casting Production Operations and implement sustainable systems for continuous improvement.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for casting-related reliability issues (e.g., mold failures, thermal fatigue, casting defects).
- Monitor and analyze process data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for reliability improvement.
- Collaborate with process engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure robust casting operations.
- Support capital projects and equipment upgrades with a focus on reliability and maintainability.
Team Development:
- Coach and develop skills of direct and indirect reports
- Partner with the Human Resources function to establish, coordinate and monitor department-specific people systems (performance management, recognition, compensation, employee engagement, employee development, succession planning, hiring process, new employee onboarding, etc.)
- Develop and maintain a smooth functioning communications system with departments and other personnel across the site. Ensure good communications among and between shifts and crews.
Risk Management:
- Identify and coordinate efforts on cost reduction, process improvements, and support and lead the execution of problem solving efforts related to process and machine improvements
- Reviews PFMEAs for processes and equipment to ensure potential risks are mitigated regarding safety, quality, and equipment reliability
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, or 7+ years of relative casting process experience.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Strong understanding of aluminum casting processes.
- Minimum of 4 years supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business, or Engineering
- 7+ years of management experience within the aluminum industry, steel, or metals industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with continuous improvement/lean manufacturing principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience working in a union environment
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
Note; Successful candidate would need to pursue a Bachelors degree to completion.
