JOB DESCRIPTION

The Inspection Manger reports to the Accountable Manager. The Inspection Manager holds the authority to establish and modify company policies, procedures, instructions, and information for the Repair Station. The Inspection Manager has final authority to return to service all articles and the repair station is authorized to perform maintenance, preventative maintenance, as well as alterations.

The Inspection Manager is responsible for monitoring all activities of the Repair Station to ensure compliance with all Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) as well as HTS policy and procedures including directing the planning and laying out the details of inspection standards, methods, and procedures used by the repair station. Also, to comply with all applicable CFRs, manufacturer’s specifications and recommendations, customer requirements, and programs. The Inspection Manager has the authority to sign and issue the OpSpecs and their receipt upon approval by the FAA.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable rules, regulations, organizational standards, and quality expectations in all Company operations.
  • Ensure that quality objectives are established, managed, remain current, and are updated or revised as necessary.
  • Responsible for conducting risk assessments of the impact of proposed organizational and operational changes on existing and new processes and procedures within the quality department and assist in the development and implementation of mitigation strategies to eliminate or reduce identified risks.
  • Ensure all employees maintain currency and competency appropriate for their duties, through continuing education and training as appropriate.
  • Ensures that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work and that proper inspection records, reports, and forms used by the repair station are properly executed prior to returning any component to service.
  • Assures that all technical data used to inspect or repair aircraft, engines or component parts are current. Such data will include, but not limited to, manufacturer’s Maintenance manuals, Overhaul manuals where applicable, Structural Repair manuals, IPC’s, NDT Manuals, Service Bulletins, and other prescribed technical data.
  • Ensures that the FAA 14 CFR part 145 Repair Station requirements, FAA Safety Management System (SMS), and ISO9002 Quality System is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with the applicable procedures Manual and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Reports actual quality performance as defined by SMS Safety Assurance and risk assessment procedures as required to the General Manager

The Inspection Manager may temporarily delegate his/her authority to an appropriately qualified and authorized person in periods of absence. However, such delegation does not relieve the Inspection Manager of the overall responsibilities.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and a minimum 3 to 5 years of relative aviation, quality, manufacturing, or service experience required.
  • In lieu of bachelors degree, a minimum of 10 years of relative aviation, quality, manufacturing, or service experience required.
  • Airframe & Powerplant license required.
  • Requires the ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks, analyze situations objectively and make sound decisions, and interpret budgets and finance data.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Display effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Ability to speak/read/write in English.
