What you can expect as an MRT Manager at West Star:
The MRT Manager can expect to take on a dynamic role coordinating and planning scheduled maintenance operations. Your primary responsibility will be handling scheduled maintenance requests, distinguishing them from the urgent, on-demand requests addressed daily. Youll be deeply involved in accepting maintenance requests, preparing precise quotes, and planning scheduled events to minimize disruption to operational deadlines. This role requires keen attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills as you balance the logistics of planned activities while remaining flexible to adapt to changes and unexpected issues.
You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including:
- Take ownership of all email and telephone traffic for MRT scheduled work.
- Quoting and setting up MRT scheduled work orders.
- Work with the sales team on the MRT scheduled work.
- Handle the warranty and special programs for MRT scheduled work.
- Manage the schedule for MRT scheduled work.
- Primary single point-of-contact for all parties for MRT schedule work.
- Accepted, coordinated, and planned all MRT scheduled events.
- Work closely with AOG maintenance controllers and AOG managers to coordinate MRT scheduled events.
- Assist the technicians with setting up tooling/parts/hangar space that would be related to maintenance events.
- Ensure maintenance work is completed timely, accurately, and worry-free.
- Delegate responsibilities to each Technician by carefully communicating the details of each maintenance event.
- Provide regular status updates with technicians and customers.
- Provide daily detailed shift change reports to the AOG team and business leaders.
- Be the influential manager, the eyes and ears of the business, controlling the resources and guiding each Technician appropriately.
- Monitor, manage, and oversee the progress of each maintenance event through completion.
- Work closely with administrative support on labor hours, invoicing, and business metrics and goals.
- Serve as an advocate for the business, making sure each decision is in the best interest of the company.
- Negotiate MRT labor rates and estimated hours with the customer.
- Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
What you’ll need to bring with you:
Your Education:
A High school diploma or equivalent is required.
A FAA A&P License is required.
A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal.
Your Experience:
5+ years of experience working as an A&P mechanic on various models of corporate aircraft.
Knowledge of Engine Coverage Programs and commercial terms.
Your Initiative:

Your Sense of Responsibility:
Attend work every day as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments.
Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
Must have reliable transportation to get to work every day.
Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
Follow all company and safety rules when performing duties.
Maintain customer-oriented work habits.

Compensation & Benefit Information
The following information is disclosed according to state specific requirements. If the position applied to is not in a state with these requirements, the following information may not apply. The salary range for this position generally ranges between $140,000 - $155,000. Actual rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package. Other forms of compensation include a semi-annual discretionary bonus, as well as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), paid holidays and vacation time.
