Own the front door of our global MRO network and lead the Gate 0 transformation that sets every engine up for success. As part of the Maintenance Technology Operations, you will architect and deploy next generation induction, cleaning, and inspection processes and equipment, turning best ideas into standard work that lifts yield, accelerates turnaround, and drives zero defect performance. You will spearhead high impact improvements across sites, rallying cross functional teams to eliminate waste, improve bottlenecks, and make wins stick. You will orchestrate network-wide change plans, align leaders, and remove obstacles so shops can adopt enterprise standards with low friction. You will own the roadmap and results—planning milestones, allocating resources, and turning data into decisive actions—with crisp reporting on progress, risks, and countermeasures. As the connector across our MTO ecosystem, you will broadcast playbooks and lessons learned, shaping how we work today and influencing tomorrow’s strategy.Job Description
Role Overview:
- Lead strategic Gate 0 initiatives for engine receiving and work scoping.
- Ensure EHS, regulatory, airworthiness, and quality compliance; strengthen safety culture, proactively manage risks, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Build strong relationships across all sites and drive common Gate 0 process and culture standards.
- Maintain and continuously improve process documentation, routings, and standard work.
- Standardize processes and equipment across the global overhaul network.
- Lead transformation, kaizen, and problem-solving to improve TAT, first-pass yield, and productivity using lean tools (GEMBA, VSM, visual management, standard work, RCA).
- Define and manage SQDC KPIs; conduct regular reviews, close gaps to plan, and implement recovery/improvement plans, including standard work for cleaning and inspection across all MRO sites.
- Partner with operations, quality, engineering, planning, sourcing, and materials to remove constraints, resolve issues, and ensure smooth overhaul flow and cross-shift communication.
- Develop, implement, and sustain standard work for critical processes; support training and upskilling to ensure consistent execution and adherence.
- Leverage data analytics and digital tools to identify bottlenecks, monitor performance, prioritize improvements, and support deployment of new systems and technologies.
- Lead change initiatives in the shop with strong stakeholder engagement, clear communication, and effective adoption of new standards.
- Drive process yield improvements and research on new technologies and methods, applying advanced product management, manufacturing, and engineering techniques to solve issues.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Customer-driven: Demonstrated customer-first mindset with a strong propensity to go to Gemba, deeply understand shop-floor realities, and act on voice-of-customer and operator feedback.
- Bias for action: Consistently moves with urgency, makes data-informed decisions, and drives issues to closure rather than allowing problems to linger.
- Proven operational leadership: Hands-on experience leading production cells or value streams, setting clear expectations, implementing and enforcing standards, and building a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Strong process depth: In-depth knowledge of ATMRO quality systems, standards, and processes, with a track record of improving compliance, first-pass yield, and overall process robustness.
- Manufacturing engineering expertise: Solid grounding in manufacturing engineering fundamentals to understand routings, methods, tooling, and process capability to effectively partner with technical teams.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field
- 5+ years relevant experience in Aerospace, aviation MRO, or complex manufacturing/overhaul environment
- Demonstrated experience leading process improvements and cross-functional teams
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally up to 15
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) or engine/component overhaul operations
- Working knowledge of aviation regulations and quality systems (e.g., Part 145)
- Strong Lean/continuous improvement and shop operations background, with proven use of data-driven problem solving to deliver measurable results
- Process change expert with deep manufacturing/process expertise, including design, implementation, and sustainment of new or improved overhaul processes
- Experience in technology industrialization, managing technical products (e.g., shop equipment) from specification through installation and ramp to full-rate production
- Functional experience in jet engine systems (architecture, performance, operability) with end-to-end familiarity with engine hardware and configurations
- Demonstrated project management, communication, and influencing skills across all organizational levels, with ability to work on the shop floor, engage operators, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
