We are a fast-paced aviation company with rapid growth opportunity, and we are seeking a highly motivated team member to join our Miami facility. This role operates under the administrative direction of the VP of Operations, with minimal supervision. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing business operations and driving continuous improvement efforts to grow the business unit. The focus areas include Safety, Quality, productivity, efficiency, and profitability of departmental and organizational operations for a plant through the provision of effective methods and strategies.
Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate activities of departments concerned with the production, sales, and distribution of products.
- Manage staff, prepare work schedules, and assign specific duties.
- Work with quality procedures and manuals to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Review sales, operational metrics and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement, and determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
- Manage and improve workflow through the constraint and bottleneck processes.
- Manage personnel and provide leadership to achieve operational goals, including staffing requirements, interviewing, hiring, managing the cross-training plan, and training new employees.
- Perform shop floor optimization, lean improvements, and ensure conflict resolution to drive profitable growth.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other management to ensure appropriate allocation of resources and human power.
- Preemptively identify negative trends and creatively work to achieve win-win solutions with other management when conflicts occur, balancing program requirements with resource constraints.
- Effectively address customer concerns and obtain solutions such as reallocation of resources, revised schedules, or modified contractual specifications.
- Handle wheels and brakes on corporate and commercial aircraft.
Essential Skills- 5-10 years of experience in operations management.
- FAA Airframe and Power Plant License (Preferred).
- Certification under FAA Part 65.
- Knowledge of a general technical field such as engineering, contracts administration, or program management.
- Fluent verbal and written English skills.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and MS Office products.
- Strong communication skills.
- Operations management experience: 5 years (Required).
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Mechanically inclined.
- Leadership skills.
- A&P license.
- Experience with repair, MRO, airframe, schematic, and blueprint.
- Must be a team player who will contribute ideas and solutions.

Work Environment
The work environment includes swamp coolers and fans, and is predominantly indoor. The physical demands include standing, walking, using hands, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing. Occasionally, the employee may sit, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color. The shift is Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, with overtime as required. Safety glasses and safety shoes, composite or steel toed, are required. Compliance with FAA Drug Test and Bg Check is mandatory. No tools are required.
