Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager Subcontracts 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the GSC Subcontracts organization. This leadership position will be located onsite in Melbourne, FL.

Responsible for leading the program Subcontracts organization, which includes approximately 15-18 Subcontract Specialists and Managers, who direct and manage the cost, schedule, and performance requirements of their subcontracts. The Manager will be responsible for and act as the main focal point to the Program for all Major Subcontract related activities, escalating issues to Supplier Senior Level management as needed, brief internal executive management and the Customer on the status/issues affecting performance or cost and conduct program reviews with the Subcontractor and Program Office. It is the Manager’s job to ensure all portfolio Subcontracts are meeting Customer, Program, and Company needs.
The manager will further be responsible for managing the personnel on their team – coaching, growing, guiding, and enriching their careers as they manage their subcontracts.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- All phases of the Subcontract from initiation of the business case for make or buy decisions, spanet research, single/sole source determinations, request for proposals, commercial item determinations, source selection decision, proposal evaluations, negotiation strategy, awarding subcontracts, and execution of technical, cost and performance requirements
- Coordinates and collaborates with key partners such as contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program and end-users
- Manages preparation of bid packages, supports bidders’ conferences, analyzes and evaluates proposals, negotiates subcontract provisions, selects or recommends subcontractors, writes awards, and administers resulting subcontracts
- In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules
- Identifies strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations
- Manages performance of the portfolio, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations
- Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities
- Manages and develops strategic/key suppliers
- The selected manager should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. This leader must be able to collaborate closely with executive leadership, program managers, contracts, operations, business management, quality and engineering
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 7 years of experience in supply chain management, project management, subcontracts, procurement, or contracts management OR a Master’s Degree with at least 5 years of experience in supply chain management, project management, subcontracts, procurement, or contracts management OR High School Diploma/Equivalent with at least 10 years of experience in supply chain management, project management, subcontracts, procurement, or contracts management
- Must have experience in Supplier Management responsible for purchase orders in excess of $100 Million
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience managing a team of direct report employees
- Must have experience with FAR and DFAR
- At minimum, an active DoD Top Secret level clearance is required to apply and to start the role, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Company to meet its business needs

Salary Range: $141,900 - $212,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
