The Manager is directly responsible to the Accountable Manager for the day-to-day functions of the Planning Department. Planning Manager is responsible for:

• Translates customer specifications into a work package.
• Ensures that airworthiness directives, service bulletins, engineering orders, and other documentation referenced in the work package accompany the work cards to Production Control for accomplishment.
• Reviews work packages and ensures that pre-draw parts, and/or material requirements and special tooling are identified and communicated to the appropriate departments.
• Ensures that aircraft maintenance workloads are developed, planned, and scheduled within the existing capabilities of this Repair Station.
• Coordinates, communicates, and ensures that work scope, workflow, and proper sequencing with maintenance and inspection occurs.
• Estimates and enters routine documents and maintenance checks into the planning software.
• Ensures that statistical data pertinent to bid and performance history is generated and reports the results to the Accountable Manager.
• Develops operating and planning objectives, manpower, and staffing requirements.
• Produces plans for preplanned maintenance requirements.
• Develops personnel back-up plans.
• Supervises production planners performing maintenance planning and scheduling functions and developing workflows and sequences for maintenance visits.
• Manages functions of the Planning and Technical Publications Departments, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with the RSM/QCM, and that the technical data for the Repair Station is reviewed, current, and available.

The Manager of Planning may temporarily delegate his/her authority in periods of absence. However, such delegation does not relieve the Manager of Planning of the overall responsibilities.

Experience/Qualifications:

• At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in maintenance planning.
• Working knowledge of aircraft inspections and maintenance programs.
• Candidate must be a self-starter with strong planning, organizational, written and verbal communication and negotiating skills.
• Requires the ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks, analyze situations objectively and make sound decisions, and interpret budgets and finance data.
• Good interpersonal and presentation skills as well as solid computer skills are required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority, if applicable.
• Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office programs.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Ability to speak/read/write in English.
