Job Description
Summary:
This role will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end financial reporting to meet internal and external reporting requirements in compliance with Group policies and local legislative requirements and ensure that adequate controls and efficient transaction systems & processes are in place to do this. This includes reviewing GL transactions and analyzing the financial performance of the company.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure smooth day-to-day operations and oversee timely and accurate preparation of monthly closing, management and financial reports for the entity. Maintain the general ledger accurately to generate timely and insightful financial information and reports, in compliance with relevant standards (e.g. MFRS, Companies Act, Income Tax Act and etc).
Maintain interface with departmental personnel to provide information to verify or support records and ensure compliance with established accounting policies and procedures.
Coordinate accounting tasks involved in maintaining various accounting and financial records and extensively monitoring and processing related data.
Liaise with external parties such as auditors or tax agents for any accounting related queries, audit issues and to complete annual audit for the entity.
Work on improvement projects to enhance end-to-end finance processes.
Lead or implement new projects as necessary from time to time.
Identify, address and resolve any financial operational issues and suggest improvement plans to minimize the error reoccurrence
Any ad-hoc work assigned as required from time to time.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business administration. Professional certifications (eg ACCA/CIMA/CPA/CMA) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 2 to 3 years in a managerial or leadership role within a shared services environment.
- Proven experience managing a team of finance professionals, including team leads and executives
- Strong knowledge of financial operations, processes and systems in a shared services model
- High Level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in financial systems (eg Oracle Fusions/SAP), Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets/Suites and process automation tools.
