Responsibilities
This role is responsible for the strategy, design, and execution of Spirit’s Talent Development programs, with a focus on building capability and readiness development of our Team Members and Leaders.
As a part of the Spirit Talent Center, you will work closely with HR Business Partners, the LMS team, and business stakeholders across all levels of the organization to ensure we develop and retain exceptional talent to support the business priorities.
- Lead the reinvention and continual optimization of Spirit’s New Hire Orientation program.
- Establish pre and post-education metrics, training evaluation tools, and program effectiveness assessments, and address needs for improvement where necessary
- Conceptualize innovative and modern methods to address the developmental and capacity building needs of Spirit.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of current talent development programs, strategies, procedures, and practices to maximum value and impact.
- Build Spirits Leadership Development roadmap, including the design, development, and deployment of programs that support current and future leadership needs, building capability of operational leaders, top talent, front line leadership and other critical talent (based on outputs of Talent Review & Succession Planning).
- Assess and analyze Team Member development needs/trends and recommend solutions, resources, initiatives, and/or methods to fill the gap.
- Manage LinkedIn Learning and other key partnerships.
- Partner with HRBPs, HR COE’s, Talent Center and key stakeholders to understand and analyze business needs and ensure development programs are reflective of the diverse needs of our Team Member population.
- Conduct formal and informal learning needs assessments.
- Partner with HRIS and the LMS teams to develop and maintain data on effectiveness of core development offerings and systems for robust reporting.
- May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g. emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in I/O Psychology or Human Resources (or equivalent experience in Learning and Leadership Development)
- 5-7 years experience
- Experience leading in a multi-modality learning environment
- 5+ years of experience Learning & Leadership Development preferred
- 2+ years managing teams
- 100 onsite—because connection and collaboration are core to life at Spirit
- Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

- General understanding of the talent “life cycle” and intersections between Talent Management, Learning & Development, Organization Development, and Talent Acquisition.
- Strong project management skills.
- Analytical problem-solving skills, adept at analyzing data and drawing insights to assess the organization’s talent programs, recognize potential issues, diagnose root causes, and craft viable solutions.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to enable ease of communicating, liaising with, and presenting to stakeholders as well as a diverse Team Member population.
- Able to translate business needs into talent programs that make a difference. Think strategically, yet tactically focused on execution.
- Demonstrated ability to influence peers and senior leaders using data, while being open to listening and learning from others.
- Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy.
- High level of professional maturity, emotional intelligence, and solid work ethic.
- Highly adaptable, nimble and enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
