Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the company’s NDT program in accordance with NAS-410 as the Responsible Level 3. It is also a Supervisory role that involves supporting the Quality Assurance and Production departments to deliver quality products on-time.
This position requires mandatory NAS-410 Level 3 certification in the Ultrasonic Method. The ideal candidate must have an extensive background in the immersion technique and will be required to certify in both contact and immersion. The candidate must also have been previously certified as Level 3 in the Magnetic Particle Method.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Oversight of the company’s NDT Program will consist of, but not be limited to:
- Maintain the company’s NADCAP NDT accreditation
- Align the NDT department to Corporate NDT policies and procedures.
- Be the focal for customers and governing agencies for all NDT matters.
- Review and approve the NDT sequence of operations in the manufacturing plans
- Maintain NDT personnel certification records.
- Perform internal audits of processes and personnel
- Perform external audits of NDT vendors and suppliers to verify capability and compliance
- Prepare and participate in all customer audits and surveys
- Develop and maintain UT techniques and Work Instruction procedures to reflect current specification revisions and customer contract requirements
- Train, mentor, and guide personnel in NDT methods and techniques
- Qualify, examine, and certify personnel to required NDT levels.
- Perform contract reviews for all outgoing NDT orders
- Perform receiving inspection on subcontracted NDT orders
- Maintain equipment inventory and calibration status
Quality Assurance Support
This role will be exposed to all aspects of quality, including but not limited to auditing, data analysis, corrective actions, process improvement/control, product certification and export control. Quality Assurance support will consist of the following:
- Ensure the NDT department’s compliance with the company’s AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management System.
- Assure the company’s systems and procedures satisfy government and customer requirements
- Drive quality investigations and root cause analysis for NDT issues including investigations of NCRs
- Compliance with Specifications (Internal and External)
- Conducts statistical analysis in the form of capability studies, DOE’s, etc to evaluate processes.
- Maintain internal and customer requirements in QMS system.
- Develop Quality Assurance procedures as needed and directed by Quality Management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage direct reports; timecard approvals, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, recruiting and career development
- Ensure safety compliance within the department
- Maintain 6S standards in the department
- Participate in daily Operations meetings to provide production throughput in relation to quarterly targets
- Schedule daily workload and manpower resources to meet operational targets for throughput and Earned Standard Hours
- Other duties as assigned

Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred or 10+ years as an NDT Level 3
- 10+ Years of NDT in the Aerospace Industry
- 5+ Years of Management/Supervisory experience
- Certified in accordance with NAS 410 as a Level 3 in Ultrasonics is mandatory
- Previous or current certification as a Level 3 in Magnetic Particle is required
- Experience must include Immersion Ultrasonic methods using automated C-Scan systems
- Must be able to certify to MIL-STD-2132 in Ultrasonics
- Knowledge and ability to use internal and commercially available computer systems to obtain and issue information
